The Robert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band is named after Robert Barbulak and Malcolm Bokenfohr, two dedicated members of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, who were killed in an automobile accident not of their cause in November 1993. The RMM band was formed in January 1994 to continue the development of talented and dedicated players, as Rob and Malcolm were.

The Robbie Burns Dinner is coming up! Get your tickets, donate items for the Silent Auction, and get your friends and relations together for a fantastic evening to celebrate Scotland's famous poet, and also support the SFU and RMM organization!


The Robert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band welcomes youth ages 8 -16 years to its Beginner Instrument and Pipe Band programs from September through June yearly. All our programs are held at the Burnaby Mountain campus of Simon Fraser University every Tuesday night from 7-9pm (time varies slightly by program).
Each year RMM also holds an Introduction to Music class for children 6&7 years of age. This class exposes students too music theory before introducing them to the band instruments outlined above. Class size is limited and enrollment is on a first come first served basis.
