The SFU Pipe Band organization is proud to announce that its RMM3 Pipe Band, under the direction of P/M Rob Menzies and D/S Gavin Mcrae were successful at achieving the 2012 World Championship title in the RSPBA Grade 3A category while the Junior RMM4 Pipe Band under the leadership of P/M Jack Lee, P/S Calum Scott and D/S Jake Mix placed 3rd in the Novice Juvenile category at the event held in Glasgow, Scotland on August 11, 2012.
The RMM band members who traveled to the World Championship event this year wish to thank their many supporters, family and SFU Pipe Band Instructors for making their World Championship title and 3rd placing possible.
The RMM bands practice Tuesday nights at the Burnaby Mountain campus of Simon Fraser University and welcomes youth ages 7 years and older who are interested in learning Scottish bagpipes and pipe band drumming too join the SFU Pipe Band team starting Tuesday September 18, 2012.
The Simon Fraser University Pipe Band Society gratefully acknowledges the ongoing support and assistance of the B.C. Government Gaming Branch. This support enables us to teach and perform the bagpipes and drums in British Columbia, Canada and abroad.
